PlantFailure
What it does
PlantFailure gives plants a chance to not grow depending on the biome.
The idea is for this to make farming more challenging and more interesting.
Plugin Effects
- Carrots
- Melons stems and blocks
- Potatoes
- Pumpkins stems and blocks
- Wheat
Installation
Just drop into plugins folder.
Optional - Customize config file.
Customization options
Fail Rates are a natural number between 1-100
- Two modes
1 = Break Mode calculates if it drops on break
2 = Growth Mode calculates if it grows on growth.
- Dessication
Gives plants a chance to turn into a dead bush if they fail
0 = Disabled
1 = Enabled

As of the version 1.7 its included in the jar.

Posted Feb 11, 2012Ya I plan on it I have been away from home.
I have the next update almost done. I rewrote the plugin it now is only about 80 lines of code down from the 500 some before it was in the 500 range. Config support is almost finished. New event system support.
Config loader is the only thing I have left to do. Look for an update on Monday maybe afternoon of Sunday.
The next update will have Wedhro suggestion in it.

Posted Feb 2, 2012I would really appreciate an option to disable Mushroom growth by bone meal. I couldn't find any other mod that does this, but if you know of one please lead me in the right direction.

Posted Feb 1, 2012permissions update tonight and some code clean up.
Config support coming soon along with the new event system.
Wedhro suggestion of having it on block grow will become an option in the config so you can chose what mode you want.

I considered adding in spoutplugin and spoutcraft support and maybe making the plant look sickly when it fails but you would still have to remove the plant.
So like a brown melon.
I will upload config support here in the next day or two after that maybe ill add different modes or something.

Posted Jan 27, 2012I'm very interested in this plugin to make farming more realistic. A suggestion: I think it's more sensible to make plants fail to grow and disappear instead of failing to drop, just like saplings do when growing conditions aren't met. It's more realistic to see a plant struggle to grow and eventually die in the wrong environment.
BTW excellent idea, totally digging it.
