Feel free to open pull requests, but try to keep the changes per PR minimal to reduce the time required to review them. If you have larger or more complex changes in mind, feel free to contact me to discuss them before you start working on them.
We also started to move the documentation over to Github: https://github.com/PaintballWarEdition/PaintballLegacy-Wiki/wiki
But this can certainly be improved. If you want to help with the documentation, feel free to contact me and send me your Github username.

Paintball is a fast paced and action packed multiplayer game.
In the classic TeamDeathMatch mode 2 teams compete against each other to bombard each other with snowballs. Once a player is hit, he's out and automatically leaves the arena and has to wait in the paintball lobby for his mates to finish and the next match to start. In the Paintball lobby you will meet all paintball players, choose your team and wait for enough players, or the end of the last match. When all conditions are met, a countdown starts which announces the next match.

Basic-Features
Paintball is constantly expanding. There are more and more features added which have not much to do with the classic paintball game. But do not panic: According to your personal preferences you can modify or disable most things in the config.yml in the Paintball folder.
- No client or server modifications or additional plugins are required !
- Multiple Arenas: Build as many arenas as you like !
- Complete freedom on what your arena looks like! As Paintball does not care about your arenas borders, your arena can have any shape and layout, as long as it is impenetrable. Simple build some sort of wall around your arena to keep your players inside.
- Multiple Spawns: Paintball lets you define multiple spawn points for each team (red, blue, spectators) !
- Automatic-Lobby-Arena-System: The Paintball lobby will automatically rotate through all your ready arenas. No need for administrators to be online !
Limitation: Currently there can always only run one match at a time.
- Easy: No complex setup needed ! Only 4 commands and your arena is ready and added to the automatic arena rotation !
- Mechanism to strictly seperate Survival and Paintball and to prevent "cheating" in and with Paintball.
- Easy and individually adjustable small Shop, where you can buy ammunition or other special and unique "weapons", gadgets and power-ups with the Paintball-Cash earned during the matches.
- Ranking: Your players gain points to compete with each other !
- Various statistics: examples are Points, Cash, Kills, Deaths, Hits, Shots, KD, Accurancy, Teamattacks, Wins and Defeats for each player, each arena and as a whole.
- Toggleable Killfeed ! Turn it off if it spams you !
- Most stuff is configurable ! For advanced information click here.

Easy integration on every survival server!
Our main target is to keep this plugin easily integratable on any standard survival server without disturbing the survival feeling. Players shall not be able to swindle items or gain other advantages over survival players through Paintball.
Here you got some sort of overview what actions are taken to protect the survival-part of the server:
People with the 'paintball.admin' permissions node can bypass some of them.
- Prevent commands that are not related to Paintball. So player can't teleport or use commands as a benefit.
- Prevent breaking and placing of blocks.
- Prevent dropping and picking up items, or dropping the armor.
- Options to let players only join with full health or hunger so they can't escape during fights.
- Options to save the players inventory when joining the lobby and restore afterwards.
- Paintball inventory is cleared when leaving the lobby.
- Turned off damage and starvation inside the lobby.
- Many things can be disabled if they create problems with your other plugins.
- Explosions do no damage to blocks.
- Only Paintball players receive the Paintball messages. Your other players will not get spammed.

Additional information
Hint about version checking and stats collecting:
This plugin is checking dev.bukkit.org for new updates. This can be disabled in the config with the setting "Server.Version Check".
This plugin is also doing some periodically stats tracking to mcstats.org which helps me to determine how many servers are using it. This can be disabled with the setting "Server.Metrics".
And the plugin is also sending some stats to blablubbabc.de to maybe prepare for some kind of later serverlist (a list of paintball servers). Currently those data are only stored in a non-public mysql table on my server.
- This means that this plugin is sending some general information about the minecraftserver, like: ip-adress, port, servername, slots, motd, bukkit version, if server is in onlinemode and if it has whitelist enabled.
- And some information about paintball like: how many players already played paintball there and if it is an paintball-only server (autolobby enabled) and if the server admin wants the server to be listed at some kind of public server list later, when it is finished.
→Those data are currently only send once every reload.
→ For people who don't want to share these informations with me :( → you can en- and disable this in the serverlist config (plugins/Paintball/serverlist.yml) with the setting "post enabled"

Those may be updated from time to time. In summary:
- Usage of this software is on own risk. I give no warranty in any kind that this software is working as intended.
- Modifications for personal use are mostly allowed. See the license for limitations on that. (Also note that the source code isn't publically available just yet. So actual modifications might be rather tricky currently.)
- Do not redistribute or publicly upload the plugin, with or without modifications. People are supposed to always download it for themselves from this page.
- Do not use for commercial purposes! This also applies to add-ons (other plugins or services for example) which are related or used in relation to this plugin! Examples: Don't sell any in-game currency that can be used related to paintball. Don't sell access, or prioritize paying players when joining paintball or the server running paintball. Make sure that your "donors" don't get any benefits such as abilities that can be used within the matches, or otherwise in relation with paintball.

Posted Jan 18, 2015When I start a game, the players are invisible and stay invisible until they relog. How can I fix this? I am using 1.2.10 for 1.8.1. And I'm not using TagAPI

I assume you are running TagAPI? If yes, try removing it and the play around with the 'invisible fix' setting of paintball.

Posted Jan 17, 2015well blablubbabc i watched your plugin for years and still thinks its the best minigames plugin out there and i suggest for you to first off fix all the bugs there are in the game (if there are some) and then after you do it you can post new files with new stuff like gamemodes weapons and more like you said and make people pay for them like premium items it could be like addons people will buy so the game will be more fun and i think you deserve to get some money after all this work. btw sorry for my bad english and i hope you make the good choice for yourself and not for others.

I simply don't like seeing others making profit of my work. Especially as this is offered for free: That makes me feel like people are selling a gift.
Additionally it seems unfair to the players to me: they have to pay for something which I have created and gave away for free to the server owners.
The main reason why this plugin is publicy available is, not only for showing off the results of my work, but to share the fun of playing it with all the players all over the world.
However, because this plugin was initially created in a time in which servers started creating their private minigame plugins and because of this on-going trend of private and monetized minigame plugins on the larger servers it also has that ideological meaning of 'giving even smaller servers the chance to easily offer a nice minigame to their players and not simply being another cheap tool for server owners for earning money with their players'.
Unrelated to why I am not permitting this plugin for commercial use, but here are some statistics:
So to me it seems that there are quite a few plugins which don't allow commercial use.
You are not the first one asking for this, and I have even already thought about this as well (because earning some money with a hobby project makes it even nicer, right?). However I haven't found the time yet to think this completely through, mainly because of working on the rewrite of paintball:
The biggest issue for me would probably be maintaining 2 different versions of paintball, the current one and one which has the necessary features to make it easier for server owners to monetize paintball.
I also already thought about hosting the rewrite (once it is finally finished) as spigot premium resource: because it's size and the amount of work I have put into it so far makes it the ideal candidate for a 'premium resource'.
However I have scrapped that idea for now, because I still want to statisfy everyone here as well, and that means keeping the core plugin free, and keeping my kind-of-promise of providing the core features I have announced to be working on (uuid-support, API, multiple lobbies, etc.).
What I am currently thinking of would be to maybe offer small addons as spigot premium resources (like new gamemodes, weapons, or the mysql support, things that can easily be distributed separately from the core plugin and which aren't essential to it). And with that I could include special permission to buyers, which includes commercial usage.
I am not sure however, if that would be tolerated by the staff here on dev.bukkit.org, even if I don't advertise it here ..
However, as long as the rewrite isn't finished yet, thinking about all of this is kind of senseless. I first want to focus on the rewrite currently, before looking into those tempting possibilities the future might offer.
However, only out of interest, what would something like that be actual worth to you and how large is you player-base?

Posted Jan 15, 2015Why are you against having your plugin used for commercial purposes? It seems every other bukkit dev is ok if we monetize there content except you. I'm not hating on you and I love your work, but I'm not quite sure what you have against people gnerating revenue off of your content. Also if it's possible could a purchase a monetization license?

In order to make automatization of giving players paintball money more complex, because this was abused in the past to use it together with services like buycraft and similar.

Actually it seems that there is already a russian translation here. However I would be glad if you look over it and correct potential mistakes, or come back every once and a while and update the translation once it gets outdated due to new versions of paintball.

Oh God, I'm a fool. All the time I thought that the encoding is correct. But I did not properly coded. Now everything works. I have not thinking. Constantly sit in these different configs. THANK YOU SO MUCH. You really helped.

Encoding is correct. The format of key = "message". I do not understand what the problem is. The logs this error "Size-Missmatch between the keys of the loaded and the default language file detected! (Translation-default: 0-379)"

Changing messages in the copied file still works for me. I currently can only explain this if you are saving the file (after changing it) with some mistake in format (not KEY = "message") or encoding (not utf-8 without bom).

I now make a server with only these plugins. Copied enUS and renamed it the ruRU. But here's the feature, if nothing changes, the ruRU works, but if you change at least one phrase at once "lost" all the keys. Maybe the problem is that it is necessary to transfer the entire file into one language?

Well, I can't reproduce your problem on my test server: I copied the enUS.txt file and renamed the copy to ruRU.txt, made no changes to it, change the language in the config to ruRU and Paintball loads find, without errors.

The plugin does not see the keys in ruRU. I copied all of enUS in the ruRU, do not translate, but it still says "no key" no one.
