OtherDrops

Make anything drop anything, anyhow!
Minecraft 1.7 features (click)!!
OtherDrops allows you to add anything from a simple "glass drops glass" or mob rewards, to a complex overhaul of your servers drops with drops differing depending on tools, biome, time, weather and much more, along with custom messages, actions and commands.
OtherDrops is lightweight* (it only acts on what you configure) and respects most protection plugins (eg. WorldGuard, Regios) settings. Many examples are included that you can enable and/or customize as you wish.

Help Wanted
Would you like to help improve OtherDrops? Here are some ways to get involved:
- Media/art: OtherDrops could really do with some tutorial and example videos.
- Testers: Testers who are able to go through the plugin and rigorously check that things (both existing and new features) work as they should. PM Zarius your Skype (or other IM) details if you're interested or jump on the IRC channel.
- Programming: any assistance is welcomed - see the todo list here for some ideas. Anyone with refactoring and/or automated testing experience that wants to assist would be great.
Thanks
Many thanks to these people who helped with OtherDrops:
- Cyklo: creator of the original OtherBlocks. OtherDrops is a continuation of Cyklo's original OtherBlocks (2011) plugin.
- Celtic Minstrel: many code commits and a major overhaul of the code moving into version 2.0. Moved on to create DropFactory.
- Rofang: major update of OtherDrops documentation.
- RugRats13: lots of testing and some documentation.
- Faldonboy & Steelsouls: currently maintaining and improving the documentation.
- CommodoreAlpha: community support on the comments/forum, assisting with documentation.
Many long nights are spent improving OtherDrops so if you like it please consider a donation to my coffee fund :)
- OtherDrops uses Metrics for anonymous usage stats (learn more).

Hmm... you mean the default durability decrease that occurs when hitting the mob? Not sure that there's a better way than fix tool.
You're using guns but want to stop durability damage on the pickaxes too? Not sure I fully understand the issue.

Posted Mar 31, 2013How would i approach eliminating the durability feature for attacking a mob with items that aren't swords? This is what i've done so far: ANY_CREATURE: - tool: [ANY_TOOL, -ANY_SWORD] action: LEFT_CLICK fixtool: 2 Although whenever i try to attack with a pickaxe, the durability dissapears for a second, although it comes back after another second.
I am using a gun plugin, and having the durability go down makes the gun unusable.
Thanks!

OtherDrops is working fine in 1.5.1 and the config hasn't changed. Can you check your startup messages again? If /od show isn't working then perhaps it's not starting up properly (and there's no /od help command, it's probably just showing you the default usage message).
Otherwise perhaps post me a copy (via pastebin.com) of your startup messages and otherdrops-drops file?

Posted Mar 28, 2013Hi, it appears to not be working on 1.5.1. I just updated to the newest version. I can type /odr and /od help. But it hasn't changed any block drops and /od show will not work. You type it and nothing comes up. Do you know any way i can fix this? Did i need a new config for the new version? There are no errors in my console. Thanks

Posted Mar 28, 2013Can you maybe look into adding a rename feature? so when the drop activates, the tool will be renamed to whatever you'd like?

Respawn is already in the latest dev release but not sure about triggering on a tool drop.
@BiiLii
Not sure what you mean by color the news? You mean messages? You can do it with &a, &b, etc.

Thanks, glad you're enjoying the plugin :)
The permission thing sounds a bit odd - the config looks all ok. Although there were a couple of bits you could trim, eg. tool: ANY is the default so doesn't really need to be there - I've pastebin'd a copy here.
Is it possible it's a permission issue with your server? If you don't mind testing it could you set the verbosity (at the top of the otherdrops-config.yml file) to highest, log in and test with the two different permissions then pastebin me the debug messages?

Posted Mar 26, 2013Hi there!
First off, thanks for making such a powerful, and fantastic plugin. We've had great fun configuring this to create some interesting effects!
We have, however, reached a few issues when it comes to permission based drops. See this file: http://pastebin.com/n1CTjbGr
So, this was just a quick test we put together. By default when players join the server they have otherdrops.custom.defaulthunter, and when added to our hunter group they have otherdrops.custom.hunter added, and -otherdrops.custom.defaulthunter subtracted.
Our problems occur that despite the permissions, players not in the hunter group are getting 100% redstone drops....not sure if we've made a very simple silly mistake here, but I hope you can help anyway!
Thanks
