What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. having a world that is too long to fit on the line of the sign

I was wondering if it is possible to set online signs for worlds that have lengths longer than the available space on 1 line of a sign?
i tried using multiverse to make an alias but that didnt work either. what can i do?

This is a limitation, yes. I am planning to solve this, but for AMS, not OPS (AMS is the next-gen OPS).

In the future I will add the ability to create a sign by command and rightclick on a sign (again, for AMS).

No, not on any of the current builds.

This is on my todo list, as it could be solved by creating the signs by command. The only limitation then would be to display the world name on the sign, but that might not be your biggest concern. If it is, then you should really check out all the new features with AMS.

my concern is having the world online players working properly for my world.. can i not edit it in the config at all or anything?? this really is a bummer because all my other worlds i have it setup but my new survival world has a longer name

If I remember correctly you can edit the config to support it in AMS, but this can not be done with OPS. If you are staying away from AMS because you are afraid all your stored signs will stop working, do not be afraid, as AMS comes with a command to port the configuration from OPS layout to AMS.
