There should no longer be any signs that stops working (if you don't remove the world it's monitoring, then you can still use /opsverify). Now you can fully customize the signs yourself. Read the main page for more info. You can now use [ONLINE] in addition to [OPS].

I don't think there will ever be a fix for this VanishNoPacket thingy, but after all, most people would probably like to be vanished on signs as well.
