NoCheatPlus

Detect and fight the exploitation of various flaws/bugs in Minecraft!
Introduction
NoCheatPlus attempts to prevent cheat clients from exploiting weaknesses of Minecraft or its protocol, making your server more safe. Checks cover a wide range of issues including flying and speeding, fighting hacks, fast block breaking and nukers, inventory hacks, chat spam and other types of malicious behaviour. NoCheatPlus puts emphasis on configurability and allows you to customize actions that are carried out when a player fails a check (e.g. silent cancelling, executing commands, just logging). Bypass permissions allow to control what check to apply for which players, all checks can be deactivated in the configuration, also having the option for world-specific configuration files. Many checks allow more detailed configuration to adjust sensitivity.
Certainly NoCheatPlus is not a magical bullet, it uses a lot of heuristics and even guessing, so you will encounter false positives here and there and also not catch every single violation. Example video of how NoCheatPlus blocks cheats (outdated plugin version).
NoCheatPlus was introduced by NeatMonster, building on the code base of NoCheat by Evenprime.

The following plugins might be useful to have a look at.
ProtocolLib
Allows NoCheatPlus to activate packet-level checks, covering a range of exploits that can't be monitored using ordinary means. Since roughly Minecraft 1.7.10, the fight.speed check can't work as expected anymore, due to changes in CraftBukkit. With ProtocolLib this can be repaired.
CompatNoCheatPlus (cncp)
Make plugins like mcMMO or MachinaCraft more compatbile with NoCheatPlus. Not all existing plugins are covered (yet), but you can leave a note or create an issue/ticket request for cncp. Phasing out: Citizens 2 should work with NCP out of the box, MagicSpells are working on compatibility too - rest will be integrated into NCP.
Orebfuscator
Orebfuscator fights all sorts of X-ray-hacks by altering the map information that is sent to the players, such that they have to mine blocks to actually reveal what is behind. Virtually a "must have". (Latest versions of Spigot contain features of Orebfuscator.)

Posted Aug 12, 2012Dev Build #21 seems fairly stable and might bring us "in range" for some things.
It will still have issues though.
I will probably push a couple more builds this night, but those are more for real testing and requests, they might get reverted.

Posted Aug 12, 2012I own quite a big server and we get target by spam bots. NoCheatPlus does a great job on 1.3.1 to stop chat spam but it fails to block command spam resulting in Read Timed Outs and kicking 200+ players. I don't think I am the only one having this problem and I am using the default config except my Chat Spam level is set to 400. Please fix this issue. Thanks.

On first checks i see that the timings seem okif not good in average for my test setup, though the NetServerHandler (extra NoFall checks) is not included in those.
How do you come to the conclusion that NCP causes lag spikes? Are you running Orebfuscator or Spout or DisguiseCraft ?

NoCheatPlus currently needs CraftBukkit, but unfortunately both the SpoutPlugin and NoCheatPlus are competing for setting the players "NetServerHandler" so those are currently incompatible.
We might later adjust our technique to a proxy for that one but we have the complexity that several popular and important plugins are doing such as NoCheatPlus Orebfuscator DisguiseCraft SpoutPlugin, while some use proxies (which just pass on the calls to the underlying original handler) most plugins just check in a very simple way if their own handler is installed already for a player, such that reloading can not be used anymore, for instance.

We have not found a way to fix it.
You can allow faster speeds using the set-speed hook of CompatNoCheatPlus, getting rid of "moved too quickly" messages, but the pulling down to ground from hovering could not yet be fixed.

The CustomNetServerHandler is from NCP but it does nothing but an extra check.
The exception is about the biome type tundra, which could not be found at runtime, this should rather concern your wolrdf generation plugin. I am not into the world generation thingy but i know Taiga still exists as a biome type, and i think i rmemeber distantly / foggy that tundra had been removed at some point in history.

Okay, no problem ! Been getting reports of people telling me their items aren't stacking on ground, people told me NCP could be causing it which I had trouble believing, but I thought it wasn't too hard to ask :P

It currently does interfere with placing blocks underneath and jumping, only way to allow that fully seems to be loosining the survivalfly check by putting the actions to start at a higher VL like 20, 30 ,50 (actions: VL> 30 ....).
Wait a second ... item stacking ?
Not that i would know of.

Okay ! Disabled instanteat for the time being, seems to have fixed it. :)
Also, could this plugin interfere with item stacking on the ground ? Trying to rule out which plugin might be stopping items from stacking

Posted Aug 12, 2012With the latest build #18 I've problem with IntantEat... 3/4 of all players says that are using that cheat but it's impossible.. So I've tried and when you eat more than 2-3 pieces of something 1 in your hand disappear..

PureminOrez is right, still i am interested:
"Players falling when teleporting" - did that work without NoCheatPlus ?
If you are using the latest development version, it should work again, if it worked before.
But i have to state that usually if you fall before teleporting, you will get the fall damage, unless the teleporting plugin is taking care of that. That should be normal Mainecraft/CraftBukkit behavior. The latest dev build should however fire a damage event before dealing damage, so if your telportation plugin controls fall damage during teleportation, it should not be a problem then.
