Welcome to the ultimate monster hell. I have brought together everything anyone everyone could ever want to do with monsters into one completely hellbent plugin. Use at your own risk.
Warning - Zombie digging is destructive, if you turn it on and configure it, please backup your worlds.
Plugin has been thoroughly tested as working properly, if you have trouble please report it so I can make it work for a wider range of setups!
PLEASE USE CRAFTBUKKIT 1.11 (R1) for version 19.6. Only Spigot supports this build. No other builds will work with this version.

Config
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/config/
(Is partially updated)
You will need to reference craftbukkit enums for drops and block attacking to work, failure to use valid enums could potentially break your plugin. You can find them here:
https://hub.spigotmc.org/javadocs/bukkit/org/bukkit/Material.html
You may want to play with Spawn Points, you can find the info here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/spawn-points/
If you wish to develop your own plugin with my health API, check this page:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/health-api/
For Nightmare Mode, check here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/nightmare-mode/
Need multiple configs?
- Note: This is outdated and may not work.
How to set up multiple installations, for different custom difficulties on multiple worlds:
- Copy the MA jar and rename it.
- Rename the plugin inside plugin.yml of the second copy (within the jar), and remove the commands section.
- Disable registering the /MA command in the second copy's config.
- Double check that you have no world names overlapping between the two configs, and that your bonus and naturalistic spawns are restricted to the right worlds.
You now have two separate installations.

Isn't "Monster Apocalypse.deaggro" a permission which you should get when you are OP? I haven't looked that much at this plugin yet, so i don't even know if it supports permissions:P

Posted Sep 1, 2012Hey guys, I'm simply trying to make the world feel more threatening. Give it a real "hardcore" feel to the world. A sense of fear every time you step out of your home. Making it worth the venture to fully enchanted diamond gear. Not just an average adventure which leads you into a fight or two, but an epic battle from dusk till dawn. Each arrive home an exhale of relief, and high from great reward.
Monster Apocalypse is my tool.
After days of poking around and messing with the config I've reached some what of a balance in how mobs come at you (still poking around for fine tuning). Also how sparse they are from one another, difficulty (hp, dmg, reanimation chance), while keeping an eye on server performance. I'm just stuck on one thing, the aggro range. The goal is to have the aggro range at night 55blocks, daytime 175blocks. That can be done, but for some reason I'm immune to all attacks. Others on my server are not, they get ravaged. It's actually a crazy sight to see, as the sun goes down, you begin to see shadows appear over the hills in the distance. Then they vanish as they cluster into a large rolling shadow. Anyways, I don't want to be a god, I want to adventure! I've tried a few things, and I can't seem to stop that from happening. I've googled a description of what most of the config cmds do, I'm pretty sure the answer is right under my nose but I don't know where this "Monster Apocalypse.deaggro" is. I've checked every folder, I don't see it, nor is it in the config. When I enable this: check the permission Monster Apocalypse.deaggro to make players not targetted by these mobs Check for the deaggro permission for entity attacks, shooting super arrows, and mega-aggro?: false to "true", it turns me into an immortal. For everyone else it will work as intended for the set aggro range. Here is the link for what I'm talking about.

Any help would be appreciated, I'd like to get my server up and running without making adjusting all the time.
Thanks!

Posted Sep 1, 2012Possible to generate spawns based upon Biome?
Scaling of health and damage would be nice based upon x,y,z coords.

Posted Aug 27, 2012I noticed that on my server MobStats passively conflicted with this plugin. The feature on MobStats was that the farther from spawn you went, you entered zones, and the mobs scaled in health and damage etc... I like this idea, but found that it didn't work with MobStats (no errors, just that this plugin got ignored and zombies, for example, would burn in daylight even if I set them not too).
Once I removed MobStats everything worked as configured. I'd like to request an optional feature to scale health and damage and (possibly) loot from a spawn location...
say.. /ma addspawnpoint zombies Zombie 30 1 0 15 100 scale1
In spawnpoints.yml it could have:
Something like that, maybe better suited to config.yml I dont know the technical details and I'm not sure how the loot would be handled either but something like this would be nice cuz it serves two purposes:
1) Keeps wandering players within their means and reduces lag 2) Challenges players to go after harder mobs.

Posted Aug 26, 2012First let me say that I love this plugin and it used to work great, now not so much. I run a quad core server with 32 gigs of ram and a 4kghz processor. Just so we can get the it's your system that is the problem out of the way. This plugin lags out our server. We get the system is overloaded and can't keep up warning non stop with it turned on. I have messed with virtually every setting. The only thing that semi works is if we turn off all the bonus spawns and run it. I see other people are having the same issue so it would be nice if we could get this fixed. It may work fine on servers with 2 or 3 people, just a friends server but any real server can not run this because of the load it places on the server. After running all kinds of tests on it, it's obvious that the number of mobs placed in the world is the main problem. If it's just a matter of setting up the config correctly then please by all means post a config that will not lag out a highly populated server with an average of about 20 people.

I have mobs set in both yet they still dont spawn. I can only get the spiders and zombies to spawn, but thats because i have disabled all other mobs. Looking for just zombies, spiders, and pigmen, with the occasional villager. Pigzombies will not spawn in main world at all anymore, and ecocreature will not work properly for me. This plugin really really really needs to have the wolf enum issue fixed.

indeed.. i will look at ecocreature. Though, kinda sux that the feature that was intended is broken. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
well. Ive disabled the custom drops and the plugin still seems to be broken. It will not spawn any mobs i have defined, everything looks like natural spawn except for the mobs i have disabled. They dont spawn. I have min light set to 0 and max light set to 15 and still i cant get a single mob to spawn in the day. This plugin has been broken by 1.3 and dev is nowhere around to even respond.. wtf.

Yes I ran into that error too, when I changed the config to allow custom drops.
I just switched it back to false and realized I could use ecoCreature for Giant drops as well and switched to that for the custom drop aspect.

Posted Aug 22, 2012it works, and its intense and the zombie have decent speed bursts but i had to pull it. mainly with the TPS getting down to like 11 or lowerer after 3 hours or so, but it would put butcher counts at 5 thousand. which is high for minecraft, but not entierly a buggy number. however something in this plugins is lagging out the server, please let me know what it is!!

But, my understanding is that i would need to mark the location for the virtual spawner. i'm looking to boost natural spawners up.

All non natural mobs do not spawn with natural spawn bonus, you need to spawn them with bonus spawns.
@marubal21
Yes use the custom virtual spawn points.
