MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Posted Mar 27, 2012There's a bug where, if a player is using an auto-clicker or auto-attack hack that attacks at a fast speed, one mob can be captured multiple times. I've gotten 4 eggs from rapidly clicking 1 creeper.

Posted Mar 27, 2012I'm trying to spawn a zombie inside a small cage made out of wooden fencing. It's about 1x3 inside the cage. Three times I've tossed an egg inside, three times it poofed but no zombie appeared. Does it need more room to spawn or something?

I've never really looked into making a single player mod, but I'm pretty sure I'd have to recode most of it. So, sorry, just SMP, and unless there's some sort of easy bridge I can find, it's probably going to stay that way. :/

Using latest 2.8 MobCatcher and bukkit #2120 ... possible that it's a bukkit bug ... but i updated both at the same time, so i can't say what triggers the bug.

Double check your config to make sure that projectiles are even on.
If they are, what versions of MobCatcher and CB are you using? Because I've never seen that issue.

No it doesn't caputure the mob. Instead the mob gets hurt und dies after severel eggs.

yeah, im sure I could do that. I've got my own protections system, but it obviously wouldnt stand up to towny or w/e. I had thought about trying to use world guard API and try to add a flag or something, but checking to see if the mob gets damaged is actually a really good way to integrate it. I'll definitely add that in, thanks for the idea.

Is there a way for MobCatcher to check to see if you can attack the animal before capturing it? Without such a check, this plugin would only lead to theft on servers that allow the protection of player's animals.

I'm not able to reproduce any issue with ocelot eggs. What versions of MobCatcher and CB are you using?
Also, I've got plans to make dispensers shoot eggs with the same mechanic that i've got throwing them now, rather than just spawning right on the block in front of the dispenser. So, that will fix any issues with non-living entities as well.
