Dev build
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk. This link has been removed because Bukkit doesn't like Github as a CI server.
Minecraft: The Last Airbender is a Minecraft plugin for a Bukkit server. It is designed for Survival Multiplayer, and allows players to choose an element to bend as the benders do in the world of Avatar (the stage of Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel The Legend of Korra).
Some quick notes: I will warn you that you will not be able to do everything they do in the show. There are limitations both in Minecraft and in Bukkit that prevent such extravagance. In the details of each discipline you can see exactly what you can do. As such, the description of the bending disciplines is a little altered to reflect their role in the world of Minecraft: The Last Airbender.
Features
- Play as a bender and choose which type you would like to be.
- Battle other users and see who is the best of the best.
- Compatible with WorldGuard, Factions, PreciousStones, GriefPrevention, and CreeperHeal. (Many more plugins will be added to this list)
- Nothing is required client-side
- Permissions support!
Bending
Users may bend water, earth, fire, air, or can go with being a chiblocker.. You may pick which type of bender you would like to be with the command: /bending choose [water/air/earth/fire/chi]. You may only choose one, with the exception of the Avatar, and you may never change it so be careful in your decision.
Waterbending
- Specializes in maneuverability in and on the water.
- Oceans are perfect for water benders.
- Techniques range from shooting water that do damage, freezing lakes, or even pushing enemies back with powerful waves.
- This bending style is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Water bending opens up many options in bodies of water that are otherwise closed to the other disciplines.
Earthbending
- Specializes in manipulating the earth around them.
- Any area which contains land is perfect for earth benders.
- They have the abilities to pull columns straight up from the earth, drill their way through any mountain and launch themselves through the air.
- This bending style, like water bending, is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Earth benders do not take fall damage as long as they land on the ground.
Firebending
- Specializes on destruction and incineration.
- Any environment, besides on any bodies of water, is perfect for them.
- They may create rings of fire on the ground, shoot lines of fire, and even create exploding fireballs.
- This bending style is pure offensive, and very little mobility/defense.
- Fireball is the only ability they may use that does not require any solid ground beneath them.
Airbending
- Specializes in mobility & defense.
- The land is the ideal place for airbenders, although they may also bend over the water.
- Bending air allows you to use wind to blast things away, forming a shield of air around you, or using a tornado to lift you, or your opponent, off of their feet.
- This bending style is perfect for pacifists and explorers for they lack any raw damage output, but make up for it with their utility and speed.
- Choosing air as your element increases your overall speed, decreases the rate of hunger and disables fall damage.
Chi Blocking
- Specializes in bare handed combat.
- Move faster, jump higher, take less fall damage.
- Can block someones chi, stopping them from Bending for a short period of time.
- Abilities range from Higher Jumps, Faster Punches, and Paralysis of enemies.
HELP! It's not working!
This is a Bukkit plugin, not a single player mod. It will never be a single player mod. Go to the Bukkit Wiki to set up your own server. You can play on it just like you would single player, and it requires nothing more than setting it up.
If anything is not working, look around for a development build of Bending.
Development progress
School has picked back up, so plugin development will be very intermittent at best. I've done away with the ordered releases, and will most likely be keeping 1.0.7 the "official" version until I release it as 1.1.0. It's a jump, I know, but if I were forced to stick to a schedule, the plugin would never get done. This is because there are things I like coding and want to code now, and I shouldn't have to wait just because I have something else planned for the version.
As such, there is no ETA on the release. The dev build will of course be updated as I add features, but 1.1.0 will only be officially released when everything is completed, and that could take a very long time.

to explain this more clearly ... i was watching him for a long time and made sure that he was not knocking people back or attacking anyone... he was moving outward with the flooding and using torrent repeatedly to flood further. only a few times did people interrupt this by attacking him...
he was in jail for so long because the jail timer is messed up and im guessing how long they have been in there by watching to see if they are online. and the jail timer only counts how long they are on. i let him out today and then he told me about this comment he left...

Posted Sep 6, 2013OK any mod admin or even Orion PLEASE LISTEN TO ME!!!! (sorry for caps) Ok so I was on the server, which by the way is in my opinion the best server ever do to the fact that I'm a real fan of avatar (last air bender and Kora) and was practicing water bending. while I was some one managed to get water above the criss crossing pools for the water benders. Now, I was using water whip... or torrent and was practicing with predemo when a bunch of chi blockers started to attack me. before they could though I used the big wave thing it has and I used it multiple times so that I would have time to get away. Unfortunately one of the mods thought I was flooding on purpose which I wasn't but I was flooding which I know is breaking the rules. after that he put me in the jail and I haven't been out for 2 days now. This kind of angers me because other people flood all the time and nothing happens to them. Now I know it was wrong so please give me another chance on the server I promise I wont break any rules. Sorry that this letter is VERY long but I am really upset that this happened and I'm still not out of the jail. this bending server truly was one my favorite and I went on it every day. PLEASE reconsider your choice to put me in the jail it would mean the world to me if I was allowed to play again. Thank you if you took the time for reading this I'm really sorry this was so long but this server was really important to me.

Most of things you are saying is already in the latest config and bending saving is enabled... Download the latest build please than delete the config and restart the server, Thanks!

If you followed the new season of TLOK some information about it, is that water will get like a new "thing" (it lookes like a bending) will you try and add this if this is something new or are you not planning on adding anything from TLOK?

Since nothing is really clear to what will happen in 1.7 even that packet ice isn't a sure thing, we can better wait 3 weeks till we know everything.

Posted Sep 6, 2013Hey orion, i have an few ideas for the bending plugin when 1.7 comes out
- Packet ice is added in 1.7 its rare but its better then normal ice. it cant be melt, this should be an infinity watersource :) Packet ice can be found in extreme cold boimes, (colder then taiga etc, the biome with packet ice comes in 1.7)
- Maybe you could add when 1.7 comes out the following things: In 1.7 they add much more boimes, maybe you can make that when your in a desert your firebending is stronger, and in snow boimes your waterbending should be stronger =D and in forests, extreme hills etc should it be natural

Posted Sep 5, 2013When is MySQL support going to get fixed? I had everything dependant upon mysql with control over what element users had access to via an external sql call. Now that mysql support is broken, I cannot really use this plugin on my server anymore. What is the problem with mysql support, perhaps I can provide a fix. I provided a fix last time that mysql support was not working properly.

Posted Sep 5, 2013Hello! I have a couple of suggestions.
1. Update the bending cfg to display all of the skills (torrent, shockwave, and even an avatar section for each skill to edit would be necessary imo). 2. Saving bound skill sets. It's a little frustrating to rebind skills over and over, maybe if possible, I would think that if you could save bound skill profiles, this would really enhance the experience. 3. Make an avatar edit section in the cfg so avatarstate could be somewhat of a donator benefit or such.

There is a permission node, it is listed on the wiki, that allows Benders to rechoose their element if they wish. It is reserved for Admins though, but you can give it to anyone.

The Serpent's Pass shows Aang and Katara easily making a bubble of water for an entire party of travelers. Smaller bubbles would not look like "bubbles" and would be less useful. The radius can be altered in the config, anyways. (Or if not, will eventually be editable in the config).

20 players tend to already create a good amount of lag, and we're testing the stability of the server. A server with 100 people would be a nightmare to manage, and probably lag-central. Also, there's already a full Avatar map out there.

He just made the plugin plus a test server for it, you should make it yourself or check out some of the servers that already have that like fournations or mine which is in progress

I want to give my opinion. First, it's great to have a server about Avatar; The Last Airbender, but i think that you should make the server able to get more than 20 persons. If we were more than 20, like 100 or 200, we could recreate the Four Nations map, with all the cities (Earth Kingdom, Water Tribes, Fire Nation and Air Nomads) to be more realistic. The powers are great, but i think that its more clear to have icons instead of empty space, just to remember better the moves.
