Dev build
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk. This link has been removed because Bukkit doesn't like Github as a CI server.
Minecraft: The Last Airbender is a Minecraft plugin for a Bukkit server. It is designed for Survival Multiplayer, and allows players to choose an element to bend as the benders do in the world of Avatar (the stage of Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel The Legend of Korra).
Some quick notes: I will warn you that you will not be able to do everything they do in the show. There are limitations both in Minecraft and in Bukkit that prevent such extravagance. In the details of each discipline you can see exactly what you can do. As such, the description of the bending disciplines is a little altered to reflect their role in the world of Minecraft: The Last Airbender.
Features
- Play as a bender and choose which type you would like to be.
- Battle other users and see who is the best of the best.
- Compatible with WorldGuard, Factions, PreciousStones, GriefPrevention, and CreeperHeal. (Many more plugins will be added to this list)
- Nothing is required client-side

Bending
Users may bend water, earth, fire, air, or can go with being a chiblocker.. You may pick which type of bender you would like to be with the command: /bending choose [water/air/earth/fire/chi]. You may only choose one, with the exception of the Avatar, and you may never change it so be careful in your decision.
Waterbending
- Specializes in maneuverability in and on the water.
- Oceans are perfect for water benders.
- Techniques range from shooting water that do damage, freezing lakes, or even pushing enemies back with powerful waves.
- This bending style is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Water bending opens up many options in bodies of water that are otherwise closed to the other disciplines.
Earthbending
- Specializes in manipulating the earth around them.
- Any area which contains land is perfect for earth benders.
- They have the abilities to pull columns straight up from the earth, drill their way through any mountain and launch themselves through the air.
- This bending style, like water bending, is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Earth benders do not take fall damage as long as they land on the ground.
Firebending
- Specializes on destruction and incineration.
- Any environment, besides on any bodies of water, is perfect for them.
- They may create rings of fire on the ground, shoot lines of fire, and even create exploding fireballs.
- This bending style is pure offensive, and very little mobility/defense.
- Fireball is the only ability they may use that does not require any solid ground beneath them.
Airbending
- Specializes in mobility & defense.
- The land is the ideal place for airbenders, although they may also bend over the water.
- Bending air allows you to use wind to blast things away, forming a shield of air around you, or using a tornado to lift you, or your opponent, off of their feet.
- This bending style is perfect for pacifists and explorers for they lack any raw damage output, but make up for it with their utility and speed.
- Choosing air as your element increases your overall speed, decreases the rate of hunger and disables fall damage.
Chi Blocking
- Specializes in bare handed combat.
- Move faster, jump higher, take less fall damage.
- Can block someones chi, stopping them from Bending for a short period of time.
- Abilities range from Higher Jumps, Faster Punches, and Paralysis of enemies.
HELP! It's not working!
This is a Bukkit plugin, not a single player mod. It will never be a single player mod. Go to the Bukkit Wiki to set up your own server. You can play on it just like you would single player, and it requires nothing more than setting it up.
If anything is not working, look around for a development build of Bending.
Development progress
School has picked back up, so plugin development will be very intermittent at best. I've done away with the ordered releases, and will most likely be keeping 1.0.7 the "official" version until I release it as 1.1.0. It's a jump, I know, but if I were forced to stick to a schedule, the plugin would never get done. This is because there are things I like coding and want to code now, and I shouldn't have to wait just because I have something else planned for the version.
As such, there is no ETA on the release. The dev build will of course be updated as I add features, but 1.1.0 will only be officially released when everything is completed, and that could take a very long time.

Ye But did you remember when aang makes himself a golem??? He was soooooooo slow so yes it is pretty heavy and second in episode 2 you can see katara who uses waterslice and water goes through water so that is why it is much faster, also earth is slower idk if you watch the series good but katara is much faster than toph. But one thing that bothers me alot is that when normally toph uses tremorsence she could see everyone in the area, now it is only a light ... So I was thinking that if she hold shift the earth around her goes up so if someone is in front of here 30 blocks the block in front of her goes up and if someone is to her right the right block goes up than you know as earthbender when they are coming and from where. Also a bug in the plugin is that if you use vanish as op you can't be seen but if you do /b w you see everyone that is online and they can see the vanished person :( But still I think there should be more done with potions like slows stuck (for chi blindness fighting styles) and more but I think some of the things you want aren't possible. But anyway you have some points! :D

just like earth stamps and then shoots, water draws the water up and then shoots. im pretty sure these actions are being considered as the selection of the source block in the plugin. and if the source block of earthblast moved up before shot, like water, then it would be even more like the series. it actually takes longer to raise earth and then earthblast. in the series, water and earth took about the same amount of time to shoot. unless raise earth was used and then earth blast. which was completely different. earth benders would do this so they could rapid shot their earthblast from the earth wall. but that isn't practical or necessary for the plugin. i even have clips and i timed it XD i made sure to do my homework before commenting.
i mentioned how they stick in place in my first comment. there are 3 methods. i threw "they stuck themselves in the earth with their feets" in with the smaller version of earthgrab because they are pretty much the same thing. they are putting their feet in earth.
earth armor in the series was actually slightly faster with some straight movements. remember, the armor is moveable through bending. so it is pretty much weightless to the bender because it is moving with him/her. but earth armor does limit an earthbender's movement in the series. mainly reducing their range of attacks, but not really anything else. and if the sticking effect only happened with earth armor, that would be pretty pointless because of the short time the armor lasts and the long cooldown time. in the series it worked if the earthbender was paying attention. otherwise they would get blown away. which would be why the bender would have to select something like earthgrab for it to work.
the methods for sticking were
-magnetization: allows the bender to magnetize their limbs to stick to earth. (my favorite and the one i am focusing on)
-rock hanging: in the series it was mainly used to climb walls, but also worked on the ground. this was accomplished through earth gloves and boots, but those didn't have a limited time of use. it was part of the bender's outfit and they wore it most the time. considering 1 out of 3 methods require earth clothing of some sort, it seems like that can slide.
-and the third that has already been discussed. pretty much just grabbing the feet with earth or indenting the foot in earth. this was most obvious when an earth bender was having a hard time getting a good stance, like in the desert. or when they were holding back a large force.
most of earth's sturdiness in the series went without question though. most the time it wasn't clear if it was any one of these. it just happened. i just listed the known ones. i assume magnetization can explain most of the rest.

Wow some really nice stuff but I know from the series that earthbenders are really slow and they have the stamp every block up before the shoot it with their hands (So stamp up is raiseearth and earthblast is the push) and earthbenders only don't get pushed around because they stuck themselves in the earth with their feets so I was thinking, that if ya use eartharmor you get stuck or walk slow but can't be pushed, also I don't get why people with eartharmor can run, they should get a slow, do you know how heavy that is (and the eartharmor is now leather but if you wanna make metalbending: you can if they bend an iron ore block it changes to iron block and they use eartharmor they get iron armor instead of leather (the iron block does more damage) but those are only details to add iron bending but it is only an idea don't wanna push orion to do those things (he did already enough for us!) :D) :D ???

Posted Dec 29, 2012Recently I watched the avatar series over and put a lot of effort into studying earth bending. I always feel like earth is missing so much from the series compared to the other elements in the plugin. So I looked into what the core parts of this might be.
Those just seemed like the biggest details. #1 and #2 being the biggest. Each one is a separate idea and suggestion. I wouldn't expect you to add everything. I'm looking to make earth better, not over powered. I know you said the elements are done, but I suggest these things in the off chance that you will add them.

I'm not sure what you mean about the Bloodbending bug, I've never heard nor seen that issue. As for the lever-flicking - that had to be disabled due to the new Bukkit build sadly. It will eventually be fixed, though.

I reference those often. The elements are finished and will have nothing major added to them for the most part. For numerous reasons I will not go into now (but might make an addition to the FAQ) eclipses and Sozin's comet are very unlikely to happen.

Posted Dec 28, 2012Hi there i'm having a couple of problems on my server whilst using this plugin D: Bloodbending only half works, i am able to pick the player up but not shoot the player flying, he/she just freezes in the air for a few seconds, also airbenders cannot flick levers with their bending? help?
