A helpful tutorial!
We have finally made a YouTube video using iSail, and how to use it. The link is below!

We have created this plugin, since there is currently no well-functioning plugins for ships that is well updated at the moment. This plugin will realize sailing and sea battles.
To do
- Improve sails manipulations
- Improve sinking (50% done)
- Make autorefreshing of ships
Features
- Realistic movement of ships
- Realistic turning
- Ships take damage from accidents
- Speed, acceleration, and turning depends on its size and sails
- Realistic takelage of ship
- Pumps (fast drain of water)
- Fast quenching of fire
- Climbing
- Small protection in shipyards
- Realistic fire: blocks burns for a longer time, and rain doesn't quench fire. It's made for removing broken masts from the game and for the smooth burning of everything. Otherwise ships may burn quickly
- Ship may kill players
- Cannons integration!
Installing
Soon will be downloaded archive with plugin and config file. Just unpack it into folder "plugins".

OR
Be prepared, because the creation of a ship needs a lot of time. Ready? Click! (wait until pages and movie will finish)
Warning
If you see messages like "no ship detected", know: You have to stay on ship in moment of moving to be part of the crew of the ship! Otherwise the ship won't add you to the crew!
If you fell out off your ship, know: you were not on the ship or you tripped and fell off. You have to sneak to hold on unstable place, like a mast or the edge of the ship.
Redstone don't moves!
All inventory blocks don't moves (you can only use it while ship is staying) ! But you can to use vaults or minecart chests.
If your configuration file doesn't works, just copy default configuration

Posted Jun 10, 2013Peoples!!! Soon'll release alpha version of iSail. It will for test and you WILL can to move and turn SMALL ships with ONCE sail and anchor. Ships damage is don't created in alpha version!!! And in alpha version ships must be over water. In betaversipon ships will can to be under water too.

Oh and also, since ships will take damage from accidents, maybe you could use the new horse UI/health bar to display the ship's health. Just another idea.

Sweet. I didn't know there was a way to do that with Bukkit. I hope it doesn't cause lag. Will there be airships? Also, here's an idea to cut back on possible lag. Ships need parking brakes. When a ship is ready to be parked, a player presses a sign and the ship is changed to blocks, thus removing an entity that Bukkit would have otherwise have had to keep up with. Then, when a player releases the brake, the ship turns into an entity again. Just an idea I thought I'd throw out there. Also, as you create the plugin, could you add events and stuff for other plugins to hook into? That would be great.

Posted May 31, 2013Perhaps, just a suggestion, you could get in touch with the creator of the Cannons plugin, and do some stuff with that? Like so if enabled in config, a certain kind of ship has to have so many cannons? And configurable ship types... just a suggestion. :D Good work, keep it up! :D
