I attempted to use HawkEye on my server as a replacement for LogBlock until Guardian is released, and was very pleased, until my host told me my server was using abnormally high CPU.
I spent 1-2 hours testing different things (allowing only 1 person on the server, changing the max db connections, and finally removing the plugin). The high cpu usage did not start until the day I installed HawkEye. Nothing else was changed, and the cpu usage went back down to normal after the plugin was removed.
To give you some slight statistics, the normal 1 minute cpu load is ~0.30, with HawkEye it raised to ~1.0-4.0.
The only thing I can think of is either a plugin fault, or the fact that I had logging turned on for all actions. I would love to be able to use HawkEye, but can't afford my own dedicated server just because of a single plugin.
Is there any logged action that is prone to using a high amount of cpu, such as chat logging or leaf decay maybe?
Any help would be appreciated and more info can be given if needed!
did you try dropping chat etc out of the config? there is a lot of things logged you could try turning off
how much do you pay for rental? im considering pimping out some of my boxes at £1ps/pm/pg :D
