Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Mar 31, 2012Wow, this is an amazing plugin. I just downloaded it today. I was looking for a self-serve region protection for users. Residence was way too far out of my "vanilla-range", where I try to keep the game as Vanilla as possible. This, on the other hand, has a good range of features without straying away from the classic gameplay.
My only suggestion is to add a "help"-type thing... Ex: Instead of when you type '/containertrust' and get 'ContainerTrust <player>', you should get:
'/ContainerTrust <player>: Gives <player> access to chests, levers, buttons, beds, etc.'
Great job! I can't tell you much this will help! :D

I had the exact same issue, only I needed them to access some chests and not access the others. The only way I could overcome this is to not use an admin claim, but to claim it as myself, then do the subdivisions for shops and other public chests with /containertrust public and /accesstrust public or any other set of permissions I wanted the subplots to have.
Admin claims, I've realized, are just NOT meant for towns. Towns need a specific owner and it's own set of custom permissions.
Just use admin claims for stuff like puzzles, monuments, or anything you want complete public chest/button access to, anything else use personal claims, as it will give you a more fine tooth control over the areas permissions.

Posted Mar 31, 2012This plugin is looking really great. I've only just installed it, and am just testing it thoroughly before it goes into use; so I cannot really comment on how well it works. So far, though, it's looking to be pretty brilliant.
I do have one issue, though :- On my server I have a City which has an admin claim covering it. I have a market area in this city for player run shops, each shop is a subdivision of the admin claim. It being an admin claim, chests are not protected. The plugin I use for shops is PhysicalShop, which does not protect chests from being opened (strangely). Is it possible to set a subdivision of an admin claim to protect chest access?

Posted Mar 31, 2012What a trooper BigScary! Out of all my subscriptions I've gotten more updates from you since 1.2.3 than anyone else!
Have you considered adding extra info to the string context? I would like to be able to tell who has permissions in a certain area.
Last night I went to my spawn area and realized it was griefed, when i checked who did it, it turns out it was someone from a subdivision in my city, who I must have accidentally stood outside of his plot and did /trust, giving him build access to the whole city.
I know you can go into the ClaimData directory but since we don't name our protections it's tough combing through it all.
Also for the people complaining about commands and syntax, just use commandhelper and make your own.
/buyclaimblocks $var1 = /bcb $var1 or /buyland $var1 /sellclaimblocks $var1 = /scb $var1 or /sellland $var1 /subdivideclaims = /sdc
etc...

That pvp option has been removed. You have to disable PvP for your world now. You can do that with another plugin, I think. Or maybe by just changing your server.properties. Also you'll want to update to the next version. There was a bug with that.
@BoboTheTwit
Put an admin claim down on top of your world guard area, then use /trust public. Now everyone can do everything except for claim the area.
If you want to disable all claims everywhere, set the createclaimsrequirespermission option to true. See admin details page.
@GrimblyGorn
Okay, I'll think on it.
@mrcheesete0
Point at your claim and right click with a string. You will see the claim boundary and all the subdivisions. To turn it off again, use the string outside your claim.
Yeah, using the string has an advantage (people guess it based on other experience) and a disadvantage (on servers which have more than one string-using plugin).
@panickingpastry
Read the manual, see the very first entry in the config file.
@krisdestruction
If you have pvp turned off in your server.properties, or turned off for the world you're in, you should never have any problem with grief prevention's pvp settings having an impact, like preventing you from placing items in a container. Check your settings.
@mrcheesete0
PermissionTrust is a separate permission. Someone who has permissiontrust can use the other permission commands inside the claim, but ONLY those that they have permission for themselves. SO if you /containertrust and /permissiontrust someone, they can grant /accesstrust and /containertrust, but not /trust. No one except for the claim owner and administrators can use /permissiontrust in a claim.

I run a non-PVP server so bear with me when I ask and tried to google what item stashing is. What is it?
Even so, what I presume what would be half the servers being non PVP or not wanting PVP in the first place wouldn't have a use for it right? If that's the case, can there be an option to disable it?

Thanks for the suggestion, I think any protection plugin that is user-controlled should have WG integration as well, so it can't overlap admin's protections.
That didn't work even with /trust public?

sorry mate, but your statement is incorrect.. you can disable both Nether and The End in config - the first one is in server.properties, the second is in bukkit.yml file
