Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Jun 15, 2014Is there some other permission players need to have to access chests in an admin area with 'containertrust public'?
I set up an admin area, placed a chest in it with some stuff, entered the area and used '\containertrust public' but another player gets 'you dont have permission' message when he tries to open the chest.

No, but as usual on Bukkit almost all plugins will work across versions.
It's easy enough to test this yourself.

It's just you guys tend to throw more bugs at us than we can handle. As Ticket Manager, I can assure you guys that whenever I look at the amount of tickets my heart sinks :P I'll try to do a bit of a cleanup on Monday night though.
I'll probably start closing a ton of old tickets and stuff, any for the 7.7 version will be closed. Just a heads up.

This project is not abandoned. We just had things happen in our lives which pulled us away from the project for a little while. Please rest assured that I will try to get this whole thing updated to support UUIDs before 1.8. I've got other things as well I would like to change as well, but we will get to that after the UUID update.

I just spoke with the Ticket Manager. The project doesn't seem abandoned :)
Donated a few bucks, since I have become fond of GriefPrevention.

Posted Jun 13, 2014Can we get a confirmation if this project is abandoned or not? In 1.8 there will be UUID and I'm worried what may happen if this doesn't support UUID.

In the new 7.8 version, I can't see any readable data in /ClaimData file. Where are they stored?

I read that and ran to the source code thinking something new had happened. No there is no UUID support in the dev build, there is a UUID feature that BC added a while back to index claim's by a UUID (instead of long integers), but this is not the player UUID issue that concerns everyone.
I'm looking at the PlayerData class and there is no UUID in it, and it still uses player name.

Look at the dev builds. There's a UUID compatible version there.

Well, from my work with Flags, I can tell you that Residence provides the closest match to Grief Prevention. GP still does more, but I'm also looking at the new Residence currently in dev builds and it has a lot more as well. Hopefully GP will come back to life, I still believe it's the best.

Posted Jun 10, 2014So what are you guys looking at as alternatives to Grief Prevention, since it would appear the project has been abandoned? I know of precious stones for managing claims, but GP did so much more. Is there a combination you're using to acheive a similar effect? Does anyone know of a script to convert GP claims into WorldGuard claims?

Posted Jun 10, 2014I just noticed that /ignoreclaims doesn't work for non-claimed areas. I have it set so you can't build/destroy anything unless you claim it.
Reverting back...
Is this project dead?

Update: Found Dev Build 293 and it worked! Can now use GP just as before with all Admin abilities restored. Also, went back to 1.7.2 Craftbukkit.
Thanks to gnaxi & Zerophis for tips!
Here's the link for anyone that wants #293

Posted Jun 9, 2014Some kind of backup of claims should be implemented (if it isn't already and I missed it)...
Third time now that all claims mysteriously dissapeared when some other plugin got an error or whatever.Nevermind. For some reason the stats config has been reseted.
