Give Anything Listener
Introduction
| This is a plugin that works with Votifier 1.8 or higher, and as such should be placed inside the plugins folder NOT the listeners one. | |
| This plugin listens to voting events passed from Votifier and allows you to reward players with anything when they vote for your server. | |
| If you can type it as a command you can use it to in this plugin! | |
| The Plugin works like a lot of the other listeners, but gives the user a detailed Configuration, on how to setup the broadcast message, and the colour / control codes they can use, Like {BOLD} etc... | |
| This Plugin REQUIRES Votifier 1.8 or above! | |
| When installing you must place the GAListener.jar into your /plugins folder. | |
| It will then create a config.yml inside of the folder which you can edit to your liking! |
Configuration
Configuration information (Including Lucky Voters can be found) Configuration Page!
Here's a video tutorial thanks to Koz4Christ!
Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
You can disable the stat collection via /plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml if you wish.

turn on debug in votifier and then check your server.log for votes from each service you use.
Here's an example from my server log:
[INFO] [Votifier] Received vote record -> Vote (from:PlanetMinecraft.com username:REMOVED address:REMOVED timeStamp:1377812319)
[INFO] [Votifier] Received vote record -> Vote (from:Minecraft-Server-List.com username:REMOVED address:REMOVED timeStamp:1377730025)
from: servicename would be what you would put in the config to give out different rewards for different services.

Posted Aug 28, 2013I've posted about this before but didn't get a response then:
The lucky voting system doesn't seem very good at randomizing, and the chances don't follow anywhere closely the ones you put in. It always seems to favour a few items in the list no matter what I do with it, whether it's putting items at various percent chances or putting all items at 1% chances and making copies of the chance for ones I want more likely. It ends up that a few items are favoured more than others and often things I want only 1 percent of the time - like rare enchanted items - end up turning up in almost every vote.
Please, if you have time, look at the algorithm determining what comes up in the lucky votes, and try to make it follow the chances a little more if you can. Thanks.

I believe that it is a bug in the current update of R: GAListener 0.9 [Large Update] for 1.6.2. Because I am having the same problems and need help aswell. All we can do it wait for the plugin developer to either fix this problem, or upload a newer and solved update. And I think you are doing the command right. Maybe Im wrong. We will both have to wait until someone regarding the plugin replies.

Posted Aug 26, 2013One of the items is not being given, possibly due to meta data, but I can't find any information anywhere. I have this following command set up as part of the default set of vote rewards, so there should be no failure. Instead, nobody receives the item or any error pointing to that fact.
- '/give {username} 50 1 name:&eSuper_Torch unbreaking:1 lore:&6Torch_of_super_quality.'
So this should give the voter one torch, named Super Torch in yellow, with an unbreaking enchant, with an item description that says Torch of super quality in orange. However this does not happen, the item appears nowhere after voting. Can anybody explain?

Posted Aug 25, 2013I have looked and there does not seem to be any documentation on setting other services like PlanetMinecraft to give different rewards than the default! I have only seen MC-Index... How do i find out the service name of the service i want to setup rewards for in the config?

/Vote has nothing to do with rewards hope you know...
You probably set it up incorrectly, there is a reason they have this: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/give-anything-listener/pages/configuration/

1/10 is a 1 in 10 chance of getting lucky. Does that answer your question?

Posted Aug 23, 2013I have question about the "luckyvotes" chance - lets say that I have "luckyvotes: 10". So it means, that for every vote there is 1/10 chance to get special reward (so accidentally some lucky person should get 2 lucky rewards in a row). OR luckyvotes: 10 means, that the player receives reward every 10 votes? Thanks, Palan

if you can showing me your GAListener config would help to see if there are any errors.
