This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of Minecraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.
Works fine for me on 1.3.1 R2.0. Very useful for castles and walls. If I may make a suggestion: Whenever you next update this maybe add a function to allow us to add blocks to be used as gates? One member of my community wants to make a red wool curtain with the gates but can't.
after fighitng with the version 1.o for a while i found 1.1a and uploaded this... now i can at least get comformation that a gate has been created but when i click on the sign to register it it tells me "failed to find gate" dunno what im doin wrong here...any suggestions?
yeah, worldguard and edit both work with this plugin but obviously u can break the gates if you do something like set air through a gate or something, world edit ignores most other plugins
this is confirmed as still working but as it is 3 months outdated, i might be moving on to something else soon as there is no telling how long it will be until it breaks.

I can confirm that this is completely false. It's something else buddy. I have Gates, WorldEdit, and WorldGuard plus 80 other plugins installed and gates work fine.

Issue the command /gates setredstone on or /gates setredstone toggle (depending on how you want the gate to react to redstone). Then hit the gate sign which you want to apply the option to.
How to handle it with permission, is not possible with my plugin. Try do some searches here on Bukkit Dev regarding redstone permission.
