Extra Hard Mode
Extra Hard Mode changes the game rules to create NEW, INTERESTING CHALLENGES for players who have mastered the core game. Unlike Mojang's "hard" mode or other plugins' "hardcore" modes which just punish you more for making mistakes without actually changing game mechanics, Extra Hard Mode delivers interesting new challenges for advanced players.

Recommended Plugins
- Make tree logs and branches fall when chopped with GraviTree. Set "FallingLogsDamagePlayers" to true in its config for an extra challenge!
- For anti-grief, avoid plugins that disable explosions entirely, because that will undermine the cave-in mechanic and the new improved TNT.
- Avoid plugins which allow players to teleport themselves out of danger when they're in combat or lost. Especially avoid plugins which add commands like /home, /back, and /tpa, since they will undermine the difficulty VERY much. Consider instead a teleportation plugin like Population Density, which allows players to teleport only between teleportation posts it places on the surface every 400 blocks.
- You might want to look into balancing villagers. Having diamond gear tradable for very easily farmable materials will undermine the difficulty. I use Rebalance Villagers to make the trades harder.
Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- Config options that are activated, allowing me to see what people use (or don't)
You can disable the stat collection via /plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml if you wish. If you want to see the stats, you can go here

I check for the "creeper-explosion" flag. If you set that flag then explosions won't damage your spawn. Interestingly the flag isn't set by default, even though worldguard blocks creepers by default.

ExtraHardMode is still just a "plugin" it doesn't use any minecraft internal code. That is why you can use ehm_3.3.3 which was compiled for minecraft_1.5.2 on minecaft_1.6.4. You would also be able to use ehm_3.3.3 on minecraft_1.7.2.
I'm thinking about adding some changes to fishing to make it more challenging, not 100% sure what I'm going to do there, but I think it's a bit too rewarding for requiring no skill whatsoever.

Posted Dec 1, 2013Now that the first dev versions of Bukkit 1.7.2 have been released - is it going to be hard updating EHM to 1.7.2 with all the Mojang's changes? Have you had a change to take a look at it yet?
I understand the API might be less than perfect for now.

I have had a server with mods and mcpc+ actually, I haven't tried with my 3.3.3 release though. You can use the current dev version, which I'm planning to release on the weekend some time. The version on my jenkins is the same I'm going to upload to the plugin page.

What is your timeframe for 1.6.4? Have you ever tested with mcpc+?
I use that server .jar to add in some forge mods in addition to ExraHardMode.

Posted Nov 24, 201350 suicides later, I see what is happening. At 5%, I lost a complete stack every suicide up until there were two complete rows left. After that, nothing was lost no matter what. I was expecting to lose 5% of the total every time, regardless, I am happy with this added risk.

"and maybe nothing if your inventory is only half full." Ahh. Maybe that is it then. I was testing it with 9 stacks of 64 and nothing was disappearing. I was expecting partial stacks to be picked up when I return to my stuff.
I'll test again with a completely full inventory.

Plugins that save your inventory, death chest plugins, etc could interfere with the inventory loss feature. If you set it to 5% then you will only loose 2 stacks on average on a full inventory and maybe nothing if your inventory is only half full.

Posted Nov 11, 2013Just want to commend you on a job well done, been using this plug-in on my server for a number of months. I just really enjoy how configurable it is & the amount of control it gives me over the server.
As Tremor77 has already mentioned, it would be great to see this split into 2 plug-in's later on along the line, one for mobs & another simply for mechanics.

I'v Restarting the server many times and change the version from 1.5.2 to 1.6.4 but it can't work
it seems that this plugin can only used on the bukkit but MCPC
