floAuction
floAuction - In-game auction software

There are no supported versions of floAuction v3.0.x higher than 3.0.4.
floAuction provides a powerful chat based auction system with many options to help control "spam" and scams and many customizable features making it perfect for any server. Help support development of floAuction: Donate
Notable Features!
floAuction has too many customizable features to reasonably put on the main page here, but here's a list of notable ones.
- Full language customization, even (with the use of WhatIsIt) item names themselves.
- Auction house, silent auctions, sealed auctions, countdown suppression, individual opting-out of all auctioning, and many other "spam" limiting features!
- Reserves funds (i.e. removes them from the player account), ability to disable auctioning damaged and renamed items, full item details displayed, and other abuse and scam prevention features!
- Percent of winnings or price per auction taxes, limits on max's and min's of different auction aspects, banned items list and other economy protection features!
- And, finally ss of the release of floAuction version 3: Auction scopes. The ability to designate world grouping and create multiple auction houses, each with distinct language and config settings.
A list of main features, complete, in progress, planned and under consideration can be found here. Specific per-version history can be found here. And GitHub here.
Important Notes and Disclaimers
- Before commenting, read the FAQ!
- This plugin requires Vault and WhatIsIt, make sure they're installed if you want floAuction to work.
- floAuction uses PluginMetrics to create pretty graphs and charts on mcstats.org. All the data uploaded to their site is impersonal data, including version numbers of your server and floAuction, hardware capabilities, and ip info. If you are uncomfortable with this, go into your /plugins/PluginMetrics folder, change the "opt-out" value to "true" and restart your server.
- floAuction version 3 uses gravitylow's Updater functionality. You can disable it in floAuction's config.yml by setting "auto-update" to "false" or disable it for all plugins using that code in the /plugins/Updater/config.yml by setting "disabled" to "true". This Updater functionality contacts Bukkit's servers to determine if an update is available and installs it so.
- The GitHub for version 2 has moved to 2.x.x-archive as it is no longer under active development. The 2.x.x branch on GitHub is temporarily being used to develop version 3.
- A number of technical difficulties have corrupted floAuction versions 2.10.0 through 2.10.2, do not use these versions!

Commands
- /auction - Main auction interface, use "/auction ?" in-game for more information, permissions vary per functionality. Requires permission "auction.bid":
- /auc - Shortcut for "/auction" (v2.6.0+)
- /sealedauction same syntax as "/auction" but forces sealed auction. (v2.6.0+)
- /sauc - Shortcut for "/sealedauction" (v2.6.0+)
- /bid [bid amount] [max bid] - Bidding, all parameters optional. If [bid amount] is omitted, bid automatically becomes the current bid + minimum bid increment. In sealed auctions, [bid amount] is required and [max bid] is ignored.
Permissions
- auction.start - Allows creation of auctions.
- auction.bid - Allows bidding on auctions.
- auction.admin - Allows administrative functions including cancelling current auctions, suspending player's auction capability, pausing and restarting auctions. (default: op)
Setup and Configuration
This plugin requires Vault and WhatIsIt.
Click here to view a detailed list of all config options for floAuction version 2 and how to use them. As of the release of floAuction 3, floAuction 2 will no longer be supported. floAuction 3 has all the features that version 2 has, plus more!
Click here to see detailed configuration and setup details for floAuction 3. It is multiple pages, but if you take the time to go through it, you will discover that floAuction is by far the most powerful auction plugin available for Minecraft.
Development Participation
I sometimes upload development or "alpha" versions of my plugin to a folder on my own website. If you would like to participate in helping me make sure these major changes have been well tested before I make an official release here on Bukkit, feel free to visit http://www.flobi.com/projects/floAuction/files/ and download the most recent version available on that site. Read the readme file there before participating. I recommend against using any of these files for any server where you need to guarantee up-time or functionality, but only on development or test servers. If you choose to use these against this recommendation, do so at your own risk (though technically it's your own risk in any case, lol, I'm not guaranteeing anything).
Misc
Sometimes I post development stuff here: https://twitter.com/flobiKenobi
I don't always play Minecraft, but when I do, I play on:

A percentage of the posting price. So if they list the item to start at 1000, and the auction-start-tax: is set to 10, then it would take 100 from their balance to start the auction, and if they did not have enough money in their balance then it would not allow them to post. This would alleviate people making ridiculous auctions and would make it so they would eventually run out of money.

A percentage of what?
I you want to set it to a percent of the winnings, use the end tax.

Posted Jan 26, 2014Noticed that the auction-start-tax: does not register as a percentile yet it recognizes it as a dollar amount. so ex. auction-start-tax: 10 take $10 at the start of each auction. Can you set it to percentage?

Probably should revert to 2.9.2 for now, but I did find the problem. When I reforked to make an archive of version 2 (as you might have noticed, I'm building 3 now), I apparently didn't do it correctly and the code I fixed somehow didn't make it into 2.10.2, that was somehow reverted. Once they approve 2.10.3 (not sure why it's taking them so long, but whatever), you can use that one. It has both fixes from 2.10.1 and 2.10.2.

Well, it's kinda annoying saying the same thing over and over, especially telling people what they should already know before reporting a bug to any developer. At peak times, there can be over 25,000 users on servers using floAuction. Fortunately only a handful of them think the few seconds they could use to skim even the first page of comments is more valuable to them than the few minutes I use to reply, which I could be using to actually program.

This isn't making sense to me. I have a null check in there because that was a bug in 2.10.0. I tested it in 2.10.1 and it worked fine. I did have some github issues, so it's possible it compiled incorrectly. I guess I can try rebuilding it.

Wonderful. In all my testing, I found the 3.alpha.0.3 to be very stable myself. Size-wise, it's not the most optimal, because it includes the partial web portal, but setting the port to 0 should at least keep any processing from that part turned off.
@LHammonds
Thanks, I'll take a look.

Posted Jan 16, 2014Using floAuction 2.10.2 with CraftBukkit 1.7.2-R0.2 Build 2974 (using Java 1.7.0_51, 64-bit), is there something that needs to be done to the config to prevent an error message when someone tries to issue the "/bid buy" command?
I start an auction like this "/auc s 1 1 1 60 10"
When someone types "/bid buy" they get the following message:
An internal error occurred while attempting to perform this command
Server log shows the following right after issuing the /bid buy command:
I also get the same results with Spigot 1.7.2-R0.3 Build 1240:

Posted Jan 14, 2014So, 2.10.1 was denied because I didn't update the project description apparently, but it fixed the broken BuyNow in 2.10.0.
I've uploaded 2.10.2, which includes an optimization from the 3.alpha line to the onPlayerJoin and still includes the BuyNow fix from 2.10.1.
I am removing 3.alpha.0.0 because it seems to be causing confusion with people who don't read the comments section here. Anyone wanting to participate in the alpha testing, view this post: @incredinex
I am removing the 2.10.0 because, frankly, the BuyNow is broken (if the decimal places is not 0) and there's nothing in it that's not in 2.9.2 otherwise.

OMFSM! Really you don't deserve a reply, but I'm just nice like that. Read the other comments. Don't use alpha versions on live servers, only dev ones. Include a version number if you expect help. Don't freak out, it's just a game. Wear sunscreen to protect yourself from harmful UV radiation if you're out in the sun for extended periods of time. The cake is a lie. Sorry to hear about that arrow in your knee. And yes, I can be a cynical, sarcastic jerk now and again, but really you should have read the comments.
@rtcabooservb
I know. I made it to hold the in progress change log. It's not ready even for an alpha test yet. But thanks.

Thanks. I'll recheck the hook for MobArena. I thought I was already doing that.
The web part was just the first fringes of a web portal. What your seeing there is a list of the auction scopes set up on your server. That part is actually removed in 3.alpha.0.4 in favor of creating it as an add on plugin floAuctionWeb.
Just a reminder, the 3.alpha branch should not be considered production stable, though 3.alpha.0.3 file does seem more stable than the rest.
Edit: for the sake of resourses, the web server can be disabled by setting the port to 0, in case anyone is risking using these in production.

Hello incredinex. Updated to 3.alpha.0.3, but have a few concerns.
Would it be possible to disable the hook into MobArena for those who do not have MobArena installed, so FloAuction doesn't even bother trying to hook into the event?
When I connect to my server's IP with the port 8124 (set based on config value) with my browser, I reach a blank page with the following string. Thoughts?

No help without a version number (and don't use "latest build", you can see my rant about that below). Try 3.alpha.0.3 or 2.10.1.

Posted Jan 12, 2014I just uploaded 3.alpha.0.3 and here's a summary of the changes:
Just a reminder, the files are located here: http://www.flobi.com/projects/floAuction/files/
And the github for this branch is here: https://github.com/incredinex/floAuction/tree/2.x.x
@DanishNinja
You probably want to read this: http://www.flobi.com/projects/floAuction/files/readme.txt
@soulscapex
The auction end issue should be working better in 3.alpha.0.3. There was an issue with my config loader that was returning a null when it should have been returning a Map.
@stgram
I really appreciate you looking into that for me. I've completely rewritten the single function called by the player join event for 3.alpha.0.3. It's definitely more optimized and I don't know of anything I can do to optimize it further. Let me know how it does on the test if you don't mind testing that again. Thanks again and I appreciate you guys testing all this out for me.
