Posted Feb 13, 2012Hello :) Ok I've been continually having a problem with griefers on my server. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that these griefers don't belong to any factions whatsoever so I'm not understanding how they are able to destroy blocks in another factions land. I'm not sure if it's factions or something else, has anyone else been having this problem?

Posted Feb 13, 2012@Brettflan Yes, I want friendly fire in a WarZone region, not an entire world. Just a chunk. That's not possible I'm assuming, any way to accomplish it through code or with a third-party plugin I can use? Sorry to be bugging you.
Also: https://github.com/mcMMO-Dev/mcMMO/commit/1bf9cfa4227a7ff665d2cd06916291c0b87b06d3
So basically they came to turns with it being their code, and it was irresponsible of them to blame it on Factions.
Users have reported that they're now able to hit allies. I looked in the config and no option about that. I should have tested it first, but any way to make it so that allies cannot receive damage? Users are also sometimes able to hit their own Factions members. I believe this is because of a multiworld support bug. I have two worlds on my server, one where "worldsIgnorePvP" is active, and one where it isn't. It seems as if when they transfer from the worldsIgnorePvP world to the main world, they can then hit faction members.

As I said, I tested it and it worked fine for me. Did you add it to both territoryDenyUseageMaterials and territoryDenyUseageMaterialsWhenOffline? One is for when the faction in question has at least one online member (or recently did based on considerFactionsReallyOfflineAfterXMinutes), the other is for when all members of that faction are offline.

I asked to player to use ender pearl inside the claimed territory launching it always inside the territory and he teleported as normally.
Also, regarding the WorldGuardChecking, I've updated to the latest version of Factions and ran that command. The setting was changed, but it needed a restart to let the integration actually work.

So what you're saying is that you need to run: /f config warZoneFriendlyFire true
As for McMMO giving exp for cancelled damage events, we cancel any damage events which we prevent (event.setCancelled(true)). Can McMMO not figure out that it shouldn't award EXP for cancelled damage events? If there's something further we need to do, I'd be glad to do so, but I have no interest in looking through their code for what they're doing wrong or what we can do in Factions to help them figure out whether to award their own EXP or not.

Posted Feb 12, 2012@Brettflan I upgraded and the TNT fix is fine now, thanks a lot. As for the regioned areas, yes, they'd be like WarZone regions except where faction members can hit one another.
Here's a direct quote from #mcmmo in regards to my inquiring why mcMMO skills like Swords, Axes, etc. give EXP even when players hit someone in a Factions SafeZone, dealing no damage:

Tested, could not duplicate. Note that it does only prevent ender pearl usage where the person using it is standing inside the territory, so it's not perfect.
@Crayder
Tested, could not duplicate. Power boost and permanent power are retained between server reboots. As for the TNT exploit workaround, I'm pretty sure I've already asked you, but are you using 1.6.5c which fixes a bug with it?
@Crayder
Something like a WarZone?
@deckswaber
Replace the JAR with the new one. That's all there is to it. If you updated to our 1.7 alpha branch (not recommended, of course), it would lose individual ownership settings, but otherwise updating won't lose any data.
@Sorrow94
Are you sure you've enabled it? /f config worldGuardChecking true
@solutionn0111
Update to 1.6.5c.
As a reminder, to make sure you keep up with new releases which fix bugs and add features, you should go to the Factions subscription page here and subscribe to file updates.
Getting questions about new features and bugs which are already handled in a recent release can get old.

Posted Feb 12, 2012I also noticed that the WorldGuard integration doesn't work as everyone can claim in WorldGuard regions. How can I make it work? I really need it.

Posted Feb 11, 2012Also, if I were coding something like an arena, is there any way to enable friendly fire in a specific region on the map, while still keeping SafeZone protection in tact?

Posted Feb 11, 2012Permanent power and power boosts are reset upon server reboots. Also, a way to disable the "TNT bug?" I'm not sure if I understand it, and players on my server don't either.

Posted Feb 11, 2012I've set territoryDenyUseageMaterials and territoryDenyUseageMaterialsWhenOffline adding ENDER_PEARL in the list, but players still can use EnderPearls inside Peaceful factions' territory. Is that a bug or I missed something? I changed this setting through the /f config command.

Eventually we probably will. Quite a lot of work will be needed for it.
@banthapoodoo89
Sorry, no. All claims are bedrock to sky.
@rythar
Read the changelog regarding /f admin.
@DagumBoss
If you want them to be able to drop down to the minimum power level, yes indeed.

Need more info on what they're doing (type of weapons / damage, any other circumstances).
@HighlifeTTU
There needs to be something to represent them not being in a faction where it's supposed to list the faction. If there were nothing there, the trailing or leading space next to the faction tag would be left hanging. So, it uses a tilde there for factionless. It's not currently configurable, sorry.
@frol1
/f powerboost used on a player gives them a boost to minimum and maximum power, and used on a faction gives that faction extra power on top of whatever power the faction members provide. /f permanentpower sets a permanent power level for a faction; the faction no longer gets power from players like a normal faction, it just uses the permanent power level which you set. Based on that, it can never have more or less power and by extension its land is secure from being captured by other factions.
@crohakon
Yes. Though they won't be "forced to PvP", a better way to put it would be "vulnerable to PvP" in that world.
@DagumBoss
You have "powerOfflineLossLimit" set to 30. Based on that, once a player's power is at 30 or below on your server they will no longer lose power from being offline. I'm guessing that's not what you intended. That setting defaults to 0, so that a player's power can't go into the negative due to the offline power loss routine.
