What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

Is it possible to stop players from claiming faction land on a specific bit of land from a plugin such as world edit or world guard?

Yes it works on 1.4.7. But I still use the 1.6.9.4 since in 1.8 they removed factionchat only... which is main reason I use factions since I disabled claiming anyway.... Though I now have a super annoying double posting bug.... which nobody seems to know so far neither a fix for it...

Edit: oooh finally some other players have it to! Guys I made a ticket about this a few days ago :p A friend of mine already contacted the coder of this plugin.

Why am I seeing the f chat message on the public message?...When a player writes something, it appear on the AllyChat or FactionChat AND the normal chat...

MULTI WORLD SUPPORT

For disable claims: /f config worldsNoClaiming nameworld

For activate friendlypvp: /f config worldsIgnorePvP nameworld

For disable PowerLoss: /f config worldsNoPowerLoss nameworld

and if you want to disable all commands of factions remember to add this permission at the group you want -factions.kit.fullplayer

hey my server is using multiverse, so we have many worlds. is there a way to make the factions stuff, the prefixes and messages and all that, only show up in one world?

Help please. Can not make text messages italics, faction nickname does not change. In the alliance's all right, what's the problem?

Is it still possible for factions to steal land from other factions because my players keep getting an error such that it says the other faction is powerful enough to keep their land despite the fact that the faction attempting to steal the land has more members, more power, and more land than the faction they try to steal from? This really confuses me so if someone could explain how it all works, assuming it is still part of the plugin, i would appreciate it.

Use an unzip utility such as unarchiver. Right click it and find something along the lines of unzip

You can always open the JAR file and view the plugin.yml file. It lists all permission with descriptions of each.

I have no problems getting factiontag to display. I just want it to display inside these "[" "]". If I add them in EssentialsChat they will still display at players without a faction so it makes up a random square in the chat.
