What is Factions?
With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.
Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- Configure (Optional)
New In Factions 2.8
- Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
- Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
- WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
- Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
- Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
- 1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
- Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
- Performance - Further work on improved performance.
- Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

Yeah i know that, but i want factions with land to only be able to spawn inside their own chunks.

Posted Apr 7, 2013I see that the Bukkit team have now added a Scoreboard API in the latest dev builds to allow plugin-specific scoreboards.
I'll be looking into that as I have time to see what we can use that for. No promises though, I already have a lot of other stuff to work on for Factions and my free time is still fairly limited.

Still looking for an answer to my question.
Is it possible to force factions to have their spawnpoint inside their own faction? or is that a feature that could be added ?
on our growing server I keep seeing more and more people using spawn as their own spawnpoint, meaning that factions land is nothing but a protected land thats unclaimable ?
Help a dude out please.

I told you /f perm already, and only mentioned /f flag as something you'd probably also find useful. Try to do more than skim through things without fully reading them and you might find something useful. I'll spell it out for you though:
/f perm wilderness - view all perms for Wilderness faction (which also covers factionless people)
And to toggle off all relations from being able to build there:
/f perm wilderness build mem false - members, thus factionless people in this case as the faction represents both wilderness and factionless players
/f perm wilderness build neu false - neutral, thus other factions generally
/f perm wilderness build ene false - enemies, just in case; not actually sure it would be necessary but better safe than sorry
/f perm wilderness build all false - allies, just in case
/f perm wilderness build tru false - truce relation, just in case
You could also set it for leader and officers ("LEA" and "OFF" as displayed in perms) just as with perms for any other faction, though that wouldn't really be relevant for Wilderness/Factionless.
Now you better not act like I haven't fully and completely answered your question beyond even any reasonable expectation for a product that you actually paid for, unlike this completely free plugin. :-P

Sorry, but offline-specific protections went to the wayside in some of the major rewriting Olof did for 1.7 and aren't currently available in the newer versions. Somebody has submitted a pull request to add back in a method of offline explosion protection which might make it in. I haven't had a chance to review it for inclusion yet, but I'll be starting back to working on Factions for a bit in the next few days and reviewing the pull requests will be part of that.

I'll be checking into that. It will probably need to be added for the 1.6.x branch, but I'd expect it's already covered in the 1.8.0 release since that doesn't differentiate between explosion sources.

In order to claim someone's claimed land, THEIR power<chunks they own. Even if your power>their power, their power MUST be<chunks they own.

Posted Apr 6, 2013Alright I just have one question and I have been looking for this for a bit. I want to change the color of allied factions to light blue, light the &b in essentials, but I cannot find the color code (EX. enemy factions have the color code: RED/ factions that are in war with each other: DARK_RED) Can someone please tell me the color code to this color? If so I will be very grateful :)

I want all my users deny build in wilderness zone if they dont have a faction to build inside
what is the flag or permission i checked FAQ and config for 1.8.0
In old versions this was not a probelm at all

So is it really that hard for u to type 2 line of text and help me / us with this issue?
If its to hard to help and give support i understand... But if its ok just expalin how to make this ok
