What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

Hey, I know you guys are going under a lot of stress but I would really love to see these features back as almost every faction server is going under serious issues (large servers). My public chat is blowing up because there are no faction chat.

Features we'd like back please:

- Chat Format - Factions Chat - Claim Land that isn't connected to your own base

It probably takes less than an hour to add these features back in. Please do so.

Hey, i have been looking through all the configs, i can't find how to enable piston pushing in to other territories. How do i enable it?

When players try to claim some chunks it tells them that they can't do that while an enemy is in that chunk, even tho there isn't.

I'm having this exact same issue. Faction chat doesn't seem to be protected, anyone who has joined the channel "Factions" is essentially seeing all of the other faction's chats.

Is there also any news on faction_relcolor for HeroChat, at least? I've noted that it's not working (as also stated on the documents). I've been looking up some links to other people's reports about the same issue, but it all seems to lead to a dead end (closed tickets).

STOP RUINING YOUR OWN PLUGIN.....LITERALLY EVER SERVER OWNER IS USING OLDER VERSIONS NOW BECAUSE YOU GUYS FUCKED UP THE NEW VERSIONS...CMON......

So it seems that I'm one of few who can read and, Properly setup the new version of the factions plugin. After reviewing about 10 pages of comments, I just want to start off and say thanks for all your work in making this plugin what it is today. Some people should really just learn to read.

Now to the reason why I'm actually commenting, I've managed to get the latest version of Factions working with no help. But, Now I need some. I also have Hero Chat installed and, Working. That's somewhat where my problem lies, When I enter the faction channel and, talk. Everyone on the server can see the message. So obviously I have a privacy concern here.

Anyway I was just wondering if anyone has found a solution to fix this or if the authors can offer some assistance? (I wouldn't be surprised if I just accidentally skimmed over a setting somewhere in the config files or, Need to add a line into Hero Chat)

If Factions.jar isn't loading on your server download Mcore, I had that problem and it loads fine now.

Did you remove the faction chat out of this plugins or am I just not seeing it? Because no one on my server can do /f c. Please help. [1.6]

Can anyone help me out with this?

"How do I remove the green chat? It's really fustrating the players. I've changed "colorMember": "WHITE", and "herochatFactionColor": "WHITE", to white but still nothing."

Real question: the new config for recent versions doesn't have anything I can change in it. How do I make factions claim land with money instead of power?

Hey,

I had the same problem and have found out the solution. It seems that warzone and safezone are treated as actual factions now. So in order to unclaim either of them, you must join them. For example : /f join safzone /f join warzone

Once you have joined, make sure you have admin on /f admin and the promote yourself to offer /f officer (your username) then simply /f unclaimall
