How it works:

Install Vault
Install the Plugin. (Drop the coloredtablist.jar file into your /plugins folder)
Choose a Permissions Node named by the color.
Example: 'coloredtablist.blue' stands for blue :)
OR set 'UserPermissions' to false in the config and choose a color-code !scroll down!
Give a User (or a Group) the specifc Permissions Node.
OR give a Group the specific Color Code in the Config
Now when the User joins he automatically gets colored in the Playerlist (press Tab).

Commands:

You can use /ctl instead of /coloredtablist

/coloredtablist help = Shows a help Page with available Commands.
/coloredtablist reload = Reloads Config and Playerlist
/coloredtablist colors = View List of Color-Codes.
/coloredtablist nick <nickname> = Changes your Name in the Tablist until you reconnect or the Server reloads.

Config Commands:

/coloredtablist set usepermissions <true/false>
/coloredtablist set usechatnames <true/false>
/coloredtablist set prefix<1> <colors>
/coloredtablist set groups <group> <prefix/suffix> <value>

Configuration:

Version: 2.1.0

#Whether or not Permissions should be used instead of Groups:
UsePermissions: true

#Whether or not Displaynames should be used 
UseChatNames: false

#If it should update a player name every 15 seconds
UpdateEvery15Seconds: true

#Write the Groups in, like here. Use "" as Prefix to dont have one. You can use Colors in Prefix using & so &4 would be red.
Groups:
    Member:
           prefix: '&e'
           suffix: '[M]'
    Admin: 
           prefix: '&a'
           suffix: '[A]'

Use them in Config with "&" instead of "#" and as Fullname in Permissions

Known Bugs:

Max 14 Characters are shown in the Tablist, longer Names are shortened to 14 (Otherwise it would show an Error because 16 Characters is max. (and we are using Colors so its 16 -2 = 14 O.o)

Well I can't quite seem to get this to work properly for groups. My groups run through McMyAdmin (So i give permission nodes and all that good stuff through the online panel) which is then exported to GroupManager. However, even adding groups names isn't coloring my tab list. I would appreciate it if someone would show me their config file and show me what I am doing wrong or possibly even have a default setup for this. (with a few groups)

Here is my config file

minecarft has a built in feature it allows you to press tab while typing the start of a name in chat and it will automatically complete the name.this works with your plugin if the name is white but if it is any other colour it doesnt work could you mabe have a go and fixing that issue. thanks

if you have problem with the permissions system. just use the group system (set UsePermissions to false and look at the config above).

[Suggestion]
- Would It be possible so the Prefix can have color codes and Effects. Example:

Donator:
Colors:
- '3'
Prefix: '&b* '

Admin:
Colors:
- '3'
Prefix: '&4&k* '

There's a function that automatically switching ids that has the same initial,like typing /tp j ,and press Tab,then you can switch player with the initial "j". And with this plugin installed,this function now longer works :( hope this can be fixed

It still doesnt work. I have usepermissions set to true and i put coloredtablist.blue for Owner, which i am. And it doesnt show up blue though. Will u be white while others see u Blue?

yes I didnt add that feature, as I think it would take to many characters.. try using §2 instead but its not working for every server..

When I put a color in the prefix like: Prefix: '&2*' It doesn't show up as a color in the tab. It just shows up as &2*.

please stop spamming :S (removed your comments, use pastebin for server logs too) its because you have to put the "-" under the "C " of "Colors:" I corrected your config. also you cant use "." so change your groupname from V.I.P. to VIP thats better believe me :)
