CityWorld
The great outdoors is all good and fine but sometimes you just want to go to town. Not any town will do, how about one that goes on forever or multiple ones separated by the largest mountains possible in MineCraft. But what is under those mountains? There is an entire world to explore, have fun!
There is a Spigot/Bukkit happy version of CityWorld over at http://www.spigotmc.org/resources/cityworld.2250/. I am not going to be updating the version here on dev.bukkit.com, so go there for the latest.

- Now supports Minecraft/Spigot 1.9 (or I think it does) and was tested against PI day build of Spigot
- Added an option to turn off things like Hot Air Balloons for folks who don't like fun things in the air ;-)
- Add material lists for astral, bunkers and water towers generation, yes I know there still more to do
- Reduced the likelihood of Museums, sorry about that
- Farms now can grow BeetRoots, Yumm!
- More building and roof styles
- MAYBE ISSUE: It seems to me that Minecraft/Spigot 1.9 causes CityWorld to generate worlds slower, but I could be wrong

- Fixed a long standing tree generation bug... and added the occasional dead tree trunk

- The majority of materials used during building generation are now configurable (lists are maintained in the cityworld's yml file)
- All chest content generation is now configurable (phatloot should still work if you really need it)
- Road material is now configurable, don't like clay... change it
- Added new lot types to world (hot air balloons, water towers, park mazes, barns, etc.)
- Brought over some of the Maze world lots to normal worlds (lumber yards, quarries, camp grounds, etc.)
- Created a way to invert the range generation logic, now you can generate cities that surround a center of nature instead of the other way around
- Lots of refactoring and tweaking, world generation will likely change... sorry but it couldn't be helped
- Fixed a number of bugs that have been bothering me
Personal note
It has been a while, sorry but my day job continues to be a bit crazy and is pretty much taking up all of my time. In this most recent update CityWorld should now work against 1.8.8 to a large degree. Many things have changed with the latest MineCraft and Spigot/CraftBukkit, I would be surprised if no problems are hiding in here somewhere.

Heads up!
This plugin really "tests" MineCraft/Bukkit when it comes to complex worlds. In fact when you spawn/teleport into a new CityWorld (or some wildly new location) it takes a while for all of the blocks to generate. This is especially obvious if you are flying around. Once the blocks are generated though everything works just fine. What I recommend is take a tour of your new world and just walk/fly up to each "uninitialized chunk" until everything shows up.

As with all bug reports, giving me steps to repro would be ideal. In this case, I need the world seed, the configuration options you used to generate the world (these are normally stored in some sort of configuration file that you multi-world manager uses) and the world coordinates of where you see the problems. Knowing what other plug ins are being used would be great too. Thanks
As for the materials being used in buildings, while I use a variety of materials to keep things visually interesting, I strive to use stackable materials in the walls and non-falling materials in ceilings and roofs. I continue to investigate some sort of material configuration technique but like stated I don't get much coding time in now a days.
Chests can be configured easiest via PhatLoots which should now be usable... with 2.93... unless I broke it again. :-)

Posted Sep 23, 2013Hello, I believe i found a few problems with your plugin, first off weird blocks are being used in places they shouldn't be for example some houses and building also i think have roofs/walls made of wool, sand and even netherack...
Now for the second problem... the houses are built great except for what i stated above but the tall buildings/structures or what ever they are called have a problem of their own, the flooring used inside the building extends outside when it should be contained inside only like the houses manage to do which is much better, im not sure if you meant for the building to do the same or not and just haven't noticed this error yet but it becomes a problem when a wool carpet runs out from under the building and becomes part of the foundation. Please change these small errors and thanks so much for this great plugin!

No its not. As Im the owner of one of the servers in the series The Mining Dead, skuli (the guy who initially nagged this guy to make our custom map generator) is capable of getting latest update sneak peeks!

This plugin works in 1.6.2 just fine. Notice the latest releases - B: v2.9 for CB 1.5.1-R0.2 Apr 29, 2013 & R: v2.03 for CB 1.3.2-R1.0 Oct 16, 2012. It's a solid stable plugin, over long periods of time. So I would say not abandoned, just a lot slower than other plugins.

Posted Jul 27, 2013i have not been able to test this plugin yet. i was hoping some of you who have could answer a couple very simple questions for me?
1). are there more than one city? what i (thought) this did, so please correct me, is basically replace village generation locations, with the cities.
2). Appx. how large do cities generate (default settings)
3.) do villagers spawn inside the cities?
thats pretty much all i really wanted to know. i see that i can edit/add schematics, and modify chest contents with other plugins. and i love the look of the sky-cities. our server wants to have a new 1.6.2 world with sky cities randomly floating overhead. (we have magic carpet for high ranks)
