ChunkLoader

This plugin allows servers to keep chunks loaded while players are not around chunks. Meaning you can keep your farms growing and your redstone ticking.

Please note that this plugin is not yet fully complete. A demo video will be added soon

Commands

Note: You can use /cl as a alias to /ChunkLoader !

User-related commands	Description
/ChunkLoader help	help command listing all commands
/ChunkLoader set	set the current chunk at your location as part of the chunk loader
/ChunkLoader remove	removes the current chunk at your location as part of the chunk loader
/ChunkLoader list	List all chunks added to ChunkLoader

This plugin is inspire by

FTB Mod pack
Railcraft: World Anchor & personal anchor
Chickenbone's Mods: ChickenChunks

What does this plugin provide

This plugin Provides a way to keep a chunk loaded in memory when the player moves away from it or logoff. I plan to make this fully customizable:

TODO List

Chunk can be unloaded if player logs off
Player can have a limit of how many chunks he can have and if he can set it.
The chunk belongs to a certain player and only he can change it
A radius can be set from that chunk (fully comiziable with config file)
Chunks can be unloaded after a certain period
Cost for the chunk to stay loaded
Cost to make a chunkloader
World Edit support

MCStats.

This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:

A unique identifier
The server's version of Java
Whether the server is in offline or online mode
The plugin's version
The server's version
The OS version/name and architecture
The core count for the CPU
The number of players online
The Metrics

notes: This plugin does work with ptweaks chunk unloading feature.

Does your plugin allow to reduce lag too ? If it keeps the chunk, maybe less lag when player move forward no ?

Hey James137137, Thank you so much that you said you would also make this compatible with java 6. Im getting the same exact problem as WolfHowller. Cant wait to use this plugin! You can just reply to either this or one of WolfHowllers posts and say when it is or something... Thanks again!

yeah it might be. some servers like spigot have something like that. I can only try my best to keep the chunks loaded in memory and active

This does not seem to work when i log off my server and no one is online. It works fine when im on the server but in other chunks though. Does the server go into some kind off sleep mode when there are no players?

Just wanted to say thanks for this plugin, and when might you expect to have a update that would include this "A radius can be set from that chunk (fully comiziable with config file)"?!?!?

Just what I was looking for. The spawn chunk reliant farms my users have made have exceeded the actual spawn chunks, and most other devs on similar projects stopped updating quite some time ago. I'll update with a review once I get back to the server :D

Java 7 is not supported by my version of Mac 10.6.8. Neither Apple or Java.com have a solution.

Thanks for getting back to me. My computer does have the latest java, but I guess my server is not running on the latest version. I am unsure of how to update my server to the latest java. Everything I find on goolge says to update the server, but gives no directions. If you know of a site that knows how to do this, that would be much appreciated. Or if it possible to downgrade the program to Java6?

most likely cause is you are still running Java 6 and not Java 7.

Hey, This mod is just what I have been looking for. Thank you working on it.

However when I was loading it, I get the message in the terminal: [18:45:40 ERROR]: Could not load 'plugins/ChunkLoader.jar' in folder 'plugins' org.bukkit.plugin.InvalidPluginException: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: nz/co/lolnet/james137137/ChunkLoader/ChunkLoader : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

I am using craftbukkit for my server. If you have any advise as to why it isn't working, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm just curious if this mod is still under development and when you plan to have it finished, if you need help, etc. It says it was lasted updated recently and it looks like a very useful mod.

I wanted to make a plugin like this but seeing as you are, I wont if you are going to develop it. But I will gladly help you out with the project if you want! I am more than supportive of this and you could even use my Jenkins CI
